Topics will be finally assigned during the first meeting, where seminar dates and the language of the seminar will be determined.
Depending on the number of participants, Biogeographical Literature Seminar I and II will be held during the same time, in bi-weekly alternation, or in separate blocks. However, they will always be on Mondays 16:00-18:00. Guests (not giving a talk) are welcome.
The course is offered every autumn term (with changing topics). If necessary (due to large numbers of students) additional courses are held during spring term.

Accredibility and Requirements
The Biogeographical Literature Seminar II (3CPs) is a seminar for advanced students. It is primarily offered to MSc students in environmental geosciences and geography. The seminar is also suitable for students of other curricula, such as MSc in Biology, Master in Sustainable Development or MA African Studies (please inquire with peter.nagel@unibas.ch, jan.beck@unibas.ch, or stefanie.vonfumetti@unibas.ch).
Participants give a 45 minute talk, using suitable media support (e.g. PowerPoint slides), and provide a handout (incl. summary) of their talk to the audience. Extent and content of the talk and its written version (see below) is discussed prior to the talk during an appointment with the lecturer leading the seminar.
