Inhalt The course focuses on human judgment and decision making from the perspective of the behavioral sciences, particularly psychology and behavioral economics. (The course does not require prior study of those areas however.) We illustrate how theories and findings from behavioral research advances understanding of phenomena in domains such as Microeconomics, Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Organization Studies.

Using observations from laboratory and field experiments, behavioral scientists describe how people make decisions and the mental processes that lead to these decisions. The theory is heavily guided by observations from experiments, with knowledge of fundamental principles of psychology and economics. Behavioral Science seeks to understand and predict how people judge and decide and how human judgments align with those prescribed by logic and rational economics.
Lernziele o Gain insights from behavioral research (social psychology, cognitive psychology, behavioral economics) into how people form judgments and make decisions
o Examine applications to understanding how managers, consumers, policy makers, entrepreneurs, and others make decisions
o Explore the relations between human judgment and decision making and the prescriptions of “rational economics.”
