Content | R is a powerful tool to do statistics and text analysis. Understanding the vocabulary used in texts, the syntactic structure, or to compare large sets of texts, R is a good choice to do the analysis. However, R has a steep learning curve. To learn the first steps, the seminar will introduce anyone without prior knowledge into learning R from the scratch, from installation to the details of text analysis. The seminar will be taught together with Freiburg within the EUCOR framework and will be therefore taught in blocs. |
Learning objectives | The course is an introduction into the use of R for doing statistics and text analysis. |
Comments | The exact dates of the block seminar will follow. |
Admission requirements | No prior knowledge of R is necessary, however, a profound curiosity to learn the scripting language R is welcome. Be aware the learning curve might be steep. |
