65307-01 - Colloquium: Kommunikation im Beruf: Interkulturelles Training 1 CP

Content In this colloquium we will familiarise ourselves with intercultural training as a practical field of work including job profiles and requirements, different training types, and the current ‘state of the art’ of training approaches.
At the same time, we will develop a critical, theory-driven perspective on intercultural training, including examining the linguistic evidence behind some of the advice dispensed, and exploring how linguistic insights could be used practically in training.

During the first session Dr. Christa Uhlinger, an intercultural trainer and coach (https://linkingpeople.ch/) will join us to share her insights on proving good intercultural training in Swiss workplaces.
Learning objectives - Gain insights into intercultural training as a field of work and understand how linguistics prepares you for such a career paths
- Critically engage with current approaches to intercultural training
- Apply linguistic knowledge to intercultural communication scenarios with the goal to practically improving interaction and understanding
Bibliography Literature will be made available to you on ADAM before the start of the colloquium.
