Content | Principles of the immune system; Immunotoxicology of drugs; Immunosafety of biopharmaceuticals (T. Singer) Immunosafety risk assessment; Immunosafety toolbox; Risk mitigation strategy (T. Singer) Principles of T cell stimulation by hapten, prohapten, pi-concept and HLA restricted relations (D. Yerly) Immune reactions to biologicals: principles and clinic; Drugs and antibody productions: IgE mediated reactons (the penicilin model); anaphylaxis, cross-reactivity, pholcodin model (T. Manigold) Immun reactions to biologicals: infusion reactions and cytokine release syndromes: risk assessment. Type II and III reactions (haemolytic anaemia, agranulo-cytosis, throbocytopenia, ...) Learning objectives | The basic principles of immunology should be known by the participants. Know the principles of immunotoxicological hazard identification and risk assessment of drugs. Know the basics of drug-induced hypersensitivity. Understand IgE mediated reactions against drugs. understand the basics of infusion reactions and cytokine release syndromes. Know the basics of skin reactions against drugs. |
