Content | In this seminar we analyse and discuss recent and classic papers in Environmental Sciences. Topics may cover a wide range of issues, from greenhouse gas emissions and climate change, to chlorofluorocarbons and Ozone depletion, metal or microplastic pollution and human exposure. Participants contribute to the selection of topics and to shaping the discussion. The focus of the discussion is on the scientific merits of the research papers but also on formal aspects such as presentation style and on the adequacy of methods. The seminar provides a platform for developing a scientific discussion culture and we expect lively inputs from all participants. |
Learning objectives | Expand the capability to critically reflect and assess the content of scientific papers, and to exchange and discuss it with peers. |
Bibliography | The publications will be selected together with the participants. The selected topics will be of broad interest and cover a wide range of topics in Environmental Sciences. Selected papers are distributed a week before each session and have to be read beforehand. |
