56558-01 - Practical seminar: Data Analytics for Psychology and Business 4 CP

Content Data is everywhere and is now being used to answer many questions concerning our wealth, health, and well-being. The aim of this seminar is to enable you to thoughtfully and actively use data science techniques to help answer meaningful questions in a wide variety of domains, from marketing to man-agement. The course will consist of 1) several introductory sessions on data science techniques using R (previous knowledge of R is beneficial but not required) 2) the application of these techniques to to a specific applied question over the course of the semester.
Learning objectives You should learn the fundamentals of a number of data science techniques, and develop confidence and skills in wrangling, analyzing, and communicating statistical data to answer specific and interesting questions in a quantified manner.
Bibliography Will be provided in the lecture.

Admission requirements Abgeschlossenes Bachelorstudium.
Course application Die interne Anmeldefrist der Fakultät für Psychologie ist der 19. Januar 2020. Die Anmeldung erfolgt durch das Belegen via MOnA (Start: 1.1.20). Vom 20. Januar bis 2. Februar 2020 nehmen die Dozierenden die Einteilung in die Seminare vor und informieren die Studierenden entsprechend.
