Content | The relations between business and society cover a wide range of possibilities, moderated by time, geography, culture, economics, and politics. In this seminar, we will explore variations across history (e.g. Smith, Marx, Weber, Parsons), geography (e.g. India, China, US, EU), and visions (e.g. Green New Deal, EU's Green Deal, 4th Industrial Revolution, Doughnut Economics, Konzernverantwortungsinitiative). |
Learning objectives | - explore a range of different relations between business and society across history, geography, and ideology - recognize opportunities and challenges in different business-society configurations - understand the systemic character of societies and its institutions |
