Inhalt Prof. Dr. Chandra Talpade Mohanty is a Distinguished Professor of Women's and Gender Studies, Sociology, and the Cultural Foundations of Education and Dean's Professor of the Humanities at Syracuse University. She has become widely known and acknowledged for her essay “Under Western Eyes: Feminist Scholarship and Colonial Discourses” in 1986, where she develops a radical critique of the Western feminist construction of the "Third World woman". Mohanty has since been one of the most influential scholars of Third World and international feminist thought and activism for nearly two decades. In her most recent book "Feminism Without Borders: Decolonizing Theory, Practising Solidarity" she reconsiders her argument made in "Under Western Eyes" and extends her approach of decolonizing feminism towards an inclusive feminist politics of difference and solidarity.

This workshop offers the chance to discuss Prof. Dr. Mohantys main research interests such as Transnational Feminist Theory, Feminist Studies of Colonialism, Imperialism and Race and Anti-Capitalist Critique with her.
