| Inhalt | Introduction to the characteristic morphological and reproductive traits of the largest angiosperm plant family, some evolutionary aspects, a discussion on speciation and some insights into the ecology of orchids. Lectures will be combined with practicals in part making use of the c. 3000 taxa life orchid collection of the Basel University's Botanical Garden and the large herbarium collection of Jany Renz. You will have the chance to get to know and see the most important regional orchid species during a half day field trip to a regional dry meadow and to have a discussion on conservational aspects. |
