| Inhalt | Leitung: Rubén Cabezon, Geoffrey Fucile und Wandrille Duchemin (Universität Basel). This workshop will be split in two parts, with each a different focus on the interaction between research and IT tools. Both parts present a heavy focus on practicals and participants are encouraged to take an active part during the course. The first part will introduce the participants to the usage and best practice of High-Performance-Computing environments, with the particular example of the sciCORE cluster, which is accessible to unibas researchers. Topics covered will include basic knowledge of the Linux/UNIX environment, tips and tricks for effective and efficient cluster usage and discussions about particular computing needs and requirements of the course participants. The second part will revolve around data visualization with the programming language R. Participants will be introduced to the grammar of graphics which allows the efficient creation of elegant and impactful representation of data. The creation of interactive graphics, will also be discussed. Previous knowledge of the Linux/UNIX environment is not a prerequisite for this workshop, whereas familiarity with the R programming language is necessary in order to get the best out of it. | Bemerkungen | Dies ist ein Angebot des Doktoratsprogramms SED-PSY. Maximale Anzahl Studierende: 15. Auswahlkriterien bei Überbelegung: 1) Doktorierende SED-PSY 2) Masterstudierende SWE Science Track 3) Doktorierende anderer Vertiefungsrichtungen Falls dieser Workshop online stattfinden müsste, käme folgende Regel zur Anwendung: Da im Workshop die aktive Teilnahme und der Austausch zwischen den Teilnehmenden wichtig ist, ist es erforderlich die Kamera während des Online-Kurses anzuschalten. Teilnehmende, die das nicht können, melden sich bitte vorab bei der Koordinatorin des Workshops. |
