| Inhalt | Adaptive Radiation and Explosive Speciation of Cichlid Fishes in the Great Lakes Region in Africa The aim of the interdisciplinary research seminar is to provide a platform for a discussion across disciplines on the basis of a research project under execution. This will be the first of its kind and will focus on a project in the field of evolutionary biology under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Walter Salzburger. The basic purpose of the seminar is to encourage participants to approach a research project from a specific disciplinary perspective on its own terms by engaging with the questions it raises, the methods it applies and trying to ascertain the theoretical and methodological challenges which such a project pose to interdisciplinary research. The seminar will take place in two sessions. The first session, to be held on 30th March 2012 (14-18), will be to prepare a more focused discussion. Walter Salzburger will present his project and Elísio Macamo will assign tasks to participants according to their disciplinary background (social anthropology, sociology, history, political science, etc.). In the second session, scheduled to take place on 11th May 2012 (8-16), the project will be discussed based on the inputs which participants will give drawing from disciplinary perspectives. |
