| Inhalt | Research Topics: The participants of the „Applied Financial Research“ seminar will have the opportuni- ty to prepare a seminar thesis of their interest with emphasis on the following areas of research: - Corporate Governance / Law & Economics - Monetary Economics and Financial Markets The topics listed are relatively broad and must be narrowed down to an eco- nomic issue. However, students have the opportunity to bring their own topics in when they are considered eligible during the preliminary discussion. |
| Lernziele | Objective: Students learn to work autonomously on a research project, to present their findings in the context of a 30-minutes presentation and to write a seminar thesis (approx. 15-20 pages without appendix). |

| Hinweise zur Leistungsüberprüfung | Date and time of the preliminary discussion (attendance is compulsory): September 18, 2012, 10-12a.m. (place can be inferred from screen in the WWZ) The preliminary empirical findings will be presented in the context of a block course taking place on the following dates: Tue., 4. Dec. 2012 0900-1500 Tue., 11. Dec. 2012 0900-1500 Tue., 18. Dec. 2012 0900-1500 Please note that attendance of all presentations is compulsory for all participants. Absence without excuse from the presentations will result in expulsion from the sem- inar. Time allotted to the presentations is 20 to 30 minutes, plus 15 minutes for discussion. The papers will need to be handed in by January 10, 2013 (two printed versions and an electronic version) to the respective assistant. Further, all data, codes and calcula- tions have to be handed in on a CD/USB. |
