| Inhalt | The study of individual cognitive processes across domains such as memory, perception, and reasoning represents one of the fundamental areas of research in scientific psychology (for introductions, see Anderson, 2004, 2009). This seminar will discuss research on these domains, in particular how theories of cognition are able to account for and predict new behavioral data. The seminar is organized in two parts: A first part where a general introduction to different topics is given, and a second part where students present and discuss empirical papers concerning some of the topics previously discussed. Students are expected to participate actively in the sessions. | Lernziele | The goal of this seminar is to present and discuss important issues and some ongoing debates in cognitive science, providing the student with an understanding of how cognitive-psychological theories relate with the experimental work and the resulting empirical data. |
