| Inhalt | Creativity is often used more as a fuzzy notion than as a clearly defined concept. Yet it is used widely in the social sciences and the humanities. This seminar aims at clarifying how social scientists and in particular anthropologists have reflected on creativity and its many manifestations in culture and society. It looks in particular at forms of individual as well as collective agency and its creative dimensions. In its second part, the seminar looks at anthropological studies that examined different forms of creativity in different societies. The third part of the seminar is an open exchange on how creativity is best framed from a comparative, anthropological perspective. This seminar addresses PhD students only and develops a theoretical understanding of creativity in anthropology. |
