Inhalt | - We will discuss current approaches to study the challenges to democracy caused by digitalization ranging from youth engagement, online participation via politicians' Twitter communication to hate speech in political discourses. |

Bemerkungen | Please take note: The first session of the seminar will be held via zoom on 22 September 2021. This session will serve as an information session for all interested students. Please take not that you will have to decide at the end of this session whether you will continue with the seminar for the rest of the term. Since we have only a limited number of places due to Corona restrictions, we want to make sure that places in the seminar are not blocked by people who will not take part for the full semester. If there are more students than places in this first session, we will distribute the places according the date of registration to the course in Mona. As of the second session we will conduct the sessions in-person according to the current Corona rules. Please also take not that we will have a first introduction to the topic with a visit to the exhibition "Digitale Demokratie - Eine interaktive Reise in die politische Zukunft" (guided tour in English) on Friday, 1 October 2021. Please block this Friday from 9.00 (departure from Basel) to 13.30 hrs (in Berne) for this excursion. The session of Friday, 17 December 2021 and Friday, 10 December 2021 will be cancelled. |
Teilnahmebedingungen | The number of participants is limited to 25 places. Priority will be given to students of Political Science and Digital Humanities.
