| Inhalt | The target is to give master students an opportunity to write an own paper in English (that may be considered to be a first step towards the master’s thesis), to present the conclusions to an international audience of researchers at Georgetown University and New York University and discuss the results. |
| Lernziele | Students will deepen their knowledge by: • writing an original scientific paper on an interesting topic that may serve as a first step to a Master's thesis • presenting the most important findings to a demanding audience in English in the U.S. |
| Literatur | Students identify the relevant literature under the supervision of Prof. Rolf Weder (University of Basel) and Prof. Jeffrey Macher (Georgetown University). |

| Teilnahmevoraussetzungen | Students have to be enrolled in the Master of Science of Business and Economics of the University of Basel (exceptions are possible, for example for PhD students). Enrollment is necessarry in the fall semester (writing the paper) AND the spring semester (presentation of the paper). |
| Anmeldung zur Lehrveranstaltung | The seminar is offered as an annual course. Registration is only possible for the students who were successfully admitted to the seminar in the autumn semester 2021 and handed in a seminar paper latest by 30 November 2021. |
