| Inhalt | The daily life of many African citizens is characterised by vulnerability: vulnerability in terms of security, health, income, to name but a few aspects. Judging from relevant theories as well as from social, political and economic indicators, many African citizens are governed by political orders that do not protect or even respect them. On the contrary, politics in Africa seem to be characterised by exclusion. In this seminar, we shall be looking at the configuration of politics in African states, and seek to understand its impact on citizens daily lives. However, we shall seek to take this (macro-political) perspective a step further by looking at (micro-political) modes of inclusion: What are the spaces for political agency in African states? Who are the actors? What are the political dynamics? |
