| Inhalt | This introductory workshop on Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) will cover the basics in (1) Model Specification, (2) Parameter Estimation, (3) Assessment of Fit, (4) Model Modification, (5) Interpretation, and (6) Communication of Results. Participants must have prior experience with Exploratory Factor Analysis and Linear Regression. The workshop consists of lectures in English and computer exercises, using the software program AMOS (SPSS). It is expected that the participants attend all sessions and complete homework assignments, including readings and computer exercises. Participants are welcome to use data from their own research projects. |
| Lernziele | Participants will - be able to perform and assess simple structural equation models, - possess knowledge of different types of advanced structural equation models. |
| Literatur | A reader will be distributed during the course. |
| Bemerkungen | This course can be accredited as Quantitative Methoden II for the MA in sociology. |
| Teilnahmevoraussetzungen | Prior experience with Exploratory Factor Analysis and Linear Regression. Open to all MA and PhD students. |
