| Inhalt | The AREL workshop covers some of the most recent topics of interest in animal research ethics and law with leading experts. Among the international and national guest speakers are philosophers, legal scholars and researchers. In addition, flash talks will be given by PhD students from the Institute for Biomedical Ethics (IBMB). Topics such as the 3Rs principle, animal welfare, animal law as well as laboratory and wildlife research will be on the focus and informal moments between presentation will give participants the opportunity to exchange and connect. |
| Lernziele | This workshop will give participants the opportunity to learn from leading experts about the most recent topics of interest in animal research ethics and law. Registered students will have the chance to write a 500 words-essay on one of the presentations. |

| Hinweise zur Prüfung | Requirements: 1) 100% attendance 2) Writing a 500 words-essay on one of the presentations (alternative options (e.g. short presentations, creative output) will be communicated to participants upon interest). *Structure of the essay: summary of/introduction to the presentation (~250 words) and a discussion/opinion (~250 words). Title of the essay: clearly indicate the presentation chosen in the title (e.g., title of the speaker’s presentation OR speaker name and concept presented). |
