| Inhalt | Based on geopolitical realities, which often describe hostile and competing interests, the geostrategies pursue to implement objectives of the concerned governments. The geostrategies resort to economic or military pressure, to coalitions with various states, or are endorsing diplomatic competency and abilities to capitalize on favorable circumstances. |
| Lernziele | Graduates of this seminar will gain broad knowledge of Geopolitics in the Globalization Era, Postmodern Geopolitics, and of Relations between Energy Security, Energy Geopolitics, and Military Power, while they will improve analytical skills. The graduates of the seminar are expected to successfully identify driving tendencies and developments in the geopolitics of the Persian Gulf region. |
| Literatur | Selected literature will provide the necessary background for a fast assimilation of knowledge in Geopolitics. |
| Anmeldung zur Lehrveranstaltung | The Persian Gulf is certainly a region with energetic global geopolitical and geostrategic relevance. It is an area where more than 50% of the world`s proven oil reserves and more than 40% of the proven world gas reserves are to be found, which makes control of the region a matter of national security for any developed country. |
