Inhalt The excursion will take place from 1-15 February 2019 (see below).The excursion will have an area focus in the Western Cape, with Cape Town and Stellenbosch and surrounds. The mapping of religious landscapes and changes in post-Apartheid society will be supported by single visits of churches (historic, Pentecostal and African Independent) as well as by meetings with eminent church and political leaders. Joint seminar blocks and other forms of interaction with South African students and academics in the field will intensify our knowledge and enrich intercultural exchanges.
Lernziele mapping of religious changes in Post-Apartheid South African society;
identifying religious movements and experiencing church-life in urban contexts;
engaging in intercultural theolgizing and exchanges;
experimenting with joint Swiss-South African seminars in interdisciplinary settings;
deepening of English language skills and theological debate,

Bemerkungen Due to South African semester calendars, the time frame for this excursion is set for February 2019, Therefore, the excursion will be part of spring semester 2019 (FS 19).

We try to minimize costs for participants; however, usually participants should be prepared to cover a certain amount themselves.

 

Teilnahmebedingungen Participation in the seminar on South Africa in HS 18 is indispensable for preparation and required for any participation in the study excursion.
