| Inhalt | This course examines post-colonial Anglophone literature and aims to familiarise students with the voices and narratives emerging in a rapidly globalising world. The focus will be on close readings of selected texts that address colonialism, immigration and (multi-)cultural diversity. Students will explore themes of identity, community and difference in their analysis of these contemporary literary works. |
| Lernziele | After having attended this course students should be able to: - demonstrate knowledge and understanding of key postcolonial literary texts. - demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the underlying form and structure of literary texts and how these relate to content and meaning. - negotiate between differing value systems and points of view. - engage with a wide range of literary texts imaginatively and through multimodal approaches. - analyse and critically evaluate a broad range of literary works in a way that is both personally meaningful and socially relevant. |
