| Inhalt | The course will provide an introduction to the mathematical theory of partial differential equations (PDEs) from fluid dynamics. We will start by deriving the equations from physical principles. We will then (in the two semesters of this course) present several (old and recent) results on the Euler and Navier-Stokes equations. |
| Lernziele | Acquisition of familiarity with the physical meaning of PDEs from fluid dynamics, and with the mathematical techniques used for their analysis. |
| Literatur | Lecture notes and further literature (or references) will be made available on the ADAM webpage of the lecture. |
| Teilnahmebedingungen | Analysis I-II and Real Analysis (Measure Theory). Some basic notions from Functional Analysis and PDEs will be useful. |

| Hinweise zur Leistungsüberprüfung | Lecture: Oral Exam after the two semesters (mündliche Masterprüfung Vertiefungsmodul Analysis). Exercises: Credit Points will be assigned under the following conditions: (1) Active participation to the lecture and to the exercise session. (2) 66% of the points from the weekly exercise series (points are given for correct solutions). (3) Written test at the end of the semester. |
