Inhalt | This colloquium provides young, highly-motivated and research-interested students (at Master or Ph.D. level) from diverse disciplines (psychology, medicine, computer science, biomedical engineering, etc.) with a unique opportunity to gain insights into state-of-the-art research (including new methods and findings) as well as clinical career building. The following topics will be discussed during the colloquium: Introduction - Career paths in clinical research - Delusions - One symptom, many diagnoses Methodology: - A brief introduction to Python and its practical use in neuroimaging analysis - Translational Neuromodeling - Exploiting new methods to answer old questions: Generative modeling and machine learning in psychiatry Clinical research: - Molecular Mechanisms of psychiatric diseases - Caffeine and its neurocognitive effects - Dopaminergic effects on EEG microstates and their implication for psychosis - The rediscovery of hallucinogenic drugs as psychiatric therapeutics - Brain network abnormalities in emerging psychosis Lecturers: Prof. Stefan Borgwardt, Prof. Dr. Dragos Inta, Dr. Andreea Diaconescu, Dr. André Schmidt, Dr. Felix Müller, Dr. Johannes Denzel, Daniel Hauke, Renate de Bock, Lin Yu-Shiuan, Marco Caviezel. |
Lernziele | The goal of this curriculum is to learn about the scientific process, including formulating new hypothesis, discussing new trends in the literature and first and foremost to sharpen students' abilities to critically evaluate and present research. |
Literatur | Suitable literature and follow-up readings will be provided by individual lecturers. |
