Inhalt • eHealth: basic principles and concepts
• Relevant theoretical frameworks for eHealth development, implementation and evaluation
• Quality standards for the evaluation of eHealth information and applications
• Examples of eHealth systems in health care and related challenges
• Factors that influence behavior, acceptance implementation and adoption of technology
• The Swiss eHealth policy in an international context
• Stakeholder involvement and user centered design
• State of science of robotics in Nursing
Lernziele In this course, students will learn that eHealth plays a major role in health care and its impact will be further growing in the future. The course is based on the premise that eHealth is not only a technological development but also a way of thinking innovatively in order to leverage technology to optimize health outcomes as part of innovative care models.
Upon completion of the course students will be able to.

1. Explain current and evolving definitions and theories of eHealth and relevant related terminology.
2. Recognize the potential of eHealth innovations for redesigning and reconfiguring processes to enhance health care.
3. Describe how collected (aggregated) data may be collected and used to support decision-making in practice, the management of health services and public health.
4. Identify how selected theories of behavior and human factors (i.e., human computer interaction) influence technology acceptance and adoption and how theory can support intervention development with an eHealth component.
5. Identify the role of eHealth in promoting the role of patients in health care (e.g., self-management applications, remote monitoring, electronic communications).
6. Understand eHealth policies within a local, national and international context.
7. Critically appraise the benefits, drawbacks and potential barriers to the implementation and adoption of eHealth solutions in view of its development process (i.e., using a user centered design and intervention theory), its content.
8. State of science and expected developments in Robotics in Nursing
9. Apply specified criteria for the evaluation of a eHealth intervention

Leistungsüberprüfung Lehrveranst.-begleitend
Hinweise zur Leistungsüberprüfung Student evaluation will be based on course participation (20%) and the Gruppenprojekt (80%) according to the following criteria:
• Participation of 80% either in person or via ZOOM
• For the exam project students will build groups of 4-5 and evaluate an eHealth application using criteria provided by the course team (criteria will be provided at start of the course).
• The evaluation will be summarized in a 2-page report. The conclusion will be written as a statement that can be posted on the internet/a blog to inform consumers on the quality of the application/information.
• Scoring of the exam will be based on a predefined criteria list introduced at the beginning of the course.
