Inhalt | • Current status of HIV, TB and malaria human immunology • Relevance of controlled human infection models in studying host pathogen interactions • New developments in tackling the HIV reservoir and cure of HIV co-infections • Insight into the role of non-conventional T cell subsets in human immune responses • Emerging roles of human monoclonal antibodies in infectious disease control, including HIV and malaria • Overview over current status of Dengue virus immunology and vaccine development • Impact of viral co-infections on HIV pathogenesis, exemplified with Pegivirus and HIV interaction • Students are actively contributing to the lecture by giving presentations on defined topics as outlined in the program |
Lernziele | This course aims at deepening the understanding of human immune responses against infectious diseases like malaria, tuberculosis and HIV and their interaction with novel emerging diseases including Dengue and Pegivirus infections. The student will be familiarized with cutting approaches for vaccine development including human challenge models and human monoclonal antibodies. Active participation of Students is encouraged to deepen their knowledge and understanding of current state of the field and the knowledge gaps to be tackled in future. This will be achieved by lectures prepared and provided by students during the course to the peers. |
