| Inhalt | In this lecture series we will explore the relationship between reflection on language and the development of logic in the history of ancient Greek philosophy. The guiding thread of encounters with Parmenides, several of Plato’s dialogues, and writings from Aristotle’s Organon will be the relationship between words, things, statements, and states of affairs. The lecture begins with Parmenides‘ poem and concludes with Stoic theories of grammar. An exercise is associated with the lecture, in which we shall discuss the relevant texts in detail. |
