Inhalt The Turing Award, sometimes called the "Nobel Prize of Computer Science", is the most prestigious technical award in Computer Science. Since 1966, it has been awarded annually for major contributions of lasting importance to computing. In this seminar, we study the Turing Award laureates and their contributions. Each participant gives a presentation and writes a report that discuss these major contributions to Computer Science and the people behind them, with each student focusing on one laureate (or team of laureates). The participants also delve deeper into their topic in a programming project.
Lernziele * Reading and understanding scientific literature.
* Independent solution of programming projects.
* Preparing and presenting scientific talks.
* Conducting scientific discussions with peers.
* Writing and discussing scientific reports.
Literatur Will be provided during the seminar.
