| Inhalt | The main goal of this lecture to introduce and to acquire overall understanding of the human immune system in relation to infection and failure of protective immunity. |
| Lernziele | To understand basic components of the immune system with a special focus on the human immune system; to get an overview of key immunological concepts of host pathogen interaction, understanding of laboratory techniques used in human immunology; to develop skills to review research papers and book chapters and to present the essence to others. |
| Literatur | The Immune System, Peter Parham, 5th Edition, WWNORTON.COM Selected publications will be discussed together with the students to complement the text book. |
