| Inhalt | The focus is on expected utility theory, which provides a coherent framework to model and analyse behavior when the consequences of decisions are uncertain. The course begins by developing the foundations of expected utility theory and its use in describing, measuring and comparing risk aversion. Subsequently, applications to financial and insurance decisions are considered. Problems with and extensions of the theory are also discussed. |
| Lernziele | Familiarity with the main issues, tools, and results in the microeconomic analysis of decision making under uncertainty. |
| Literatur | There is no required textbook. References to relevant readings will be given in the syllabus posted on ADAM. |
| Teilnahmebedingungen | No more ECTS may be earned with this lecture if the course 31960 Microeconomics and Psychology of Decision Making has already been successfully completed. |
