Inhalt | The Seminar in Economics is designed to give students a basic insight into current research in economics. The seminar is offered jointly by microeconomists and macroeconomists to allow students to study one topic in one of these fields in depth while learning from the other presenta-tions what problems or issues are being discussed in current research in other fields. Students are allowed to choose which field they would like to write their paper in by selecting a supervisor (Nöldeke-Microeconomics; Lein-Macroeconomics; Lengwiler-Banking or Finance). In an initial session during the first week of the spring semester, we will hold an in-formation session explaining our expectations for the papers and the presentations. Topics will be selected through bilateral discussion with the respective supervisors. Please contact your supervisor to discuss this in more detail. In a second session, the students present their preliminary outline and approach and receive feedback (this is a pure feedback session and will not be graded). In a third session, students present their seminar papers, which will be handed in one week before the seminar. |
Lernziele | This seminar is designed to enable students to read and understand current research, as well as summarize it in their own words, and to present and explain their assigned paper to other students. |
Literatur | Will be discussed bilaterally with supervisors. |
