| Inhalt | The United Nations 2030 Agenda with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 sub-goals forms the framework for realizing a future-proof and sustainable society. In order to make the goals set by the global community for all countries more tangible, they are introduced in this course as a tool for analyzing developments in your own city. Where does the relevance of certain SDGs become particularly tangible? Where can the SDGs be used to observe developments towards sustainability, where can grievances be revealed? Where and in what way can each and every individual take action to implement the SDGs? These questions are at the heart of the course. The aim of the course is to develop an interactive SDG city exploration for Basel by students for students and to develop a guideline for the development and implementation of student SDG city explorations in the other four Eucor cities. The SDG city exploration will be officially presented for the first time during the University of Basel's Sustainability Week 2024 from March 18-23, 2024. Course content: 1. Introduction to the SDGs as a framework for sustainable development. 2. Application of the SDGs to the city of Basel: With the help of the SDGs, the implementation status of the various dimensions of sustainability in Basel is analyzed, lighthouse projects are identified, actor constellations are revealed, untapped potential and shortcomings as well as opportunities for individual action are made visible. 3. Development of a "toolbox" that enables SDG city explorations by students for students. 4. Development of a prototype of the SDG city exploration for Basel. |
| Lernziele | Learning objectives: 1. Introduction to the SDGs approach and critical analysis of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. 2. Reflection on the significance of this approach in their own (local) reality. 3. Linking reflection on approaches to promoting sustainable development with concrete (individual) options for action on the ground. 4. Creating an awareness of the cross-border consequences of local decisions. |

| Bemerkungen | Course language: The course will be held in English. Eucor embedding: The IMPULS course and the SDG city exploration in Basel are embedded in the overarching Eucor sustainability strategy and form a kick-off for the cross-border implementation of the format. Students from all five Eucor universities are explicitly invited to participate. Diese Lehrveranstaltung wird von «Impuls» unterstützt. Impuls fördert Dozierende und Studierende, im Rahmen von Lehrveranstaltungen Projekte mit Bezug zu nachhaltiger Entwicklung umzusetzen. Mit der Förderung durch Impuls sollen Studierende zu Change Agents für Nachhaltigkeit ausgebildet und dazu inspiriert und befähigt werden, diese Kompetenzen auch im späteren Berufsleben und im Privaten für eine nachhaltige(re) Entwicklung einzusetzen. Die Förderung beinhaltet neben finanzieller Unterstützung unter anderem auch Coaching für die Umsetzung der Studierendenprojekte und einen Nachhaltigkeitsworkshop. | Bemerkungen | Das Seminar ist ein Block (12. - 16. Februar 2024, Montag - Freitag, 10 - 17 Uhr). In der «Sustainability Week» fallen weitere zwei Stunden an. Für die Nachbereitung fällt eine weitere Stunde an. |
