| Inhalt | This course, intended for Masters and Doctoral students, will explore current issues in corporate governance from an analytical perspective. We will attempt to identify the valuation consequences of different share ownership structures, activism strategies, and variations in organizational form. The course will have an international focus. While much of the extant academic literature is based upon companies from the U.S., many of the issues have worldwide importance, and the material in this course will also cover companies from Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, and the global community of sovereign wealth funds. |
| Literatur | Readings for the course will consist of publications from leading financial economics journals, notable recent working papers, and business school case studies. To enroll in the course, students should have at least some graduate-level background in microeconomics, corporate finance, and econometrics. The course will build upon themes covered in my two Masters-level summer school courses on Corporate Restructuring (2011) and Law and Finance (2012), either of which would be helpful but not strictly necessary preparation for this course. |
