| Inhalt | Field trip to Guanghzou, Shunde, Zhuhai, Macao Shaoguan, Shaoguan Danxia Mountains, Dongguan, Shenzhen, Hongkong China is experiencing rapid economic growth with concomittant societal, regional and political changes. Such changes open up many opportunities for foreign industrial investment but also allow for widening development differentials within China's urban industrial and rural areas. The field trip will contribute to an understanding of both how economic potentials are being realized in China's Pearl River Delta Region, and how regional development differentials are being dealt with. Preliminary Program: - Transfer to Guangzhou; introductory seminar: development of the Pearl River Delta and Guangdong Province - Urban commercial land use and planning in Guangzhou - Boat trip on the Pearl River - Changing urban fringe, gated communities - Individual study of the Guangzhou Area - Shunde: rural industrial development and economic transition in the Pearl River Delta - Shunde, visit Zhuhai and Macao - Urban and regional development in the underdeveloped areas, Danxia Mountains - Joint field work of Chinese and Swiss students: tea market, gated communities, middle school - Donguan model: rural industrial development in the Pearl River Delta - Zhangmutou Town: local economic development from manufacturing to real estate - Urbanization and industrialization of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, high tech industrial parks, CBD, Yantian Harbour - Urbanization and economic development in Hong Kong, Tin Shui Wai, Mai Po Wetland Park |
