| Inhalt | Content: The first part of the course, taught by Georg Nöldeke provides an introduction to general equilibrium theory. We begin by reviewing the essentials of consumer theory and the theory of the firm. Combining consumer theory and the theory of the firm, we then introduce the general equilibrium model and consider the questions under which conditions a simultaneous equilibrium on several markets exists and whether such an equilibrium has interesting welfare implications. Topics for the second part of the course, taught by Gabriele Camera are: -Uncertainty -Planning problems -Consumption -Growth and dynamic programming -Asset pricing |
| Literatur | The text for the first part of the course is Jehle, G.A. and P.J. Reny, Advanced Microeconomic Theory, 3rd edition, Prentice Hall, Chapters 1,2,3, and 5. Readings for the second part of the course are from Jehle and Reny, Chapter 2 Costas Azariadis, Intertemporal Macroeconomics, 1993, CH: 1, 13, 14 Nancy L. Stokey, Robert E. Lucas Jr. and Edward C. Prescott, 1989, Recursive Methods in Economic Dynamics, (Ch. 1-6) Thomas J. Sargent, 1987, Dynamic Macroeconomic Theory, (Ch 1-5.) and a set of notes that will be provided to the students. |

If there is only one of the two above mentioned lectures completed, then you may go for this lecture. |
