Inhalt | Content: In the seminar on Financial Management and Accounting Research participants will get exposure to current research in the fields of corporate financial management and accounting. Students will be asked to conduct and present their own analysis. The seminar focuses on issues of current major importance for problem solution within corporations. The contributions will therefore be research oriented but have an applied stance. The contribution can be either in the form of an own piece of empirical research on an individual topic or of a rather theoretical analysis (e.g. a survey study of current research papers complemented by an own assessment). Furthermore, participants can also contribute and analyse their own case study or develop an analytical model. Thus, the seminar is intended to extend participants' knowledge on concepts in corporate financial management and accounting based on the subject matters they have learnt in previous courses. Furthermore, students will gain insights on the empirical relevance of certain concepts and their potential for practical applications. Finally, they will learn to present and defend their analyses in English. |
Lernziele | Objective of the course: The seminar provides an integrated understanding of the main subject matters of modern financial management and accounting. Students will be given the opportunity to work on a particular topic of their interest and present their paper in class. By this means, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and understanding of currently most relevant questions in financial management and accounting. Furthermore they will get a broad perspective on the various topics that will be presented and discussed by other participants. |
