| Inhalt | The Project Course 2014/15 takes us to Arusha and Moshi in northeast Tanzania. It offers MA students the opportunity to learn a range of ethnographic methods and theoretical perspectives to study "moving bodies and connecting minds in urban Tanzania". How do people move in towns like Arusha and Moshi? How do they connect with others? These questions will guide us in the study of diverse fields of life, ranging from health and illness, to livelihood, environmental concerns, religion and art, depending on your interest. In the first part of the Project Course you get an introduction to the topic, an overview of the region and advanced training in research skills. You develop your own study focus, write a proposal and acquire funds. During the second part of the Project Course (from 6 January - 15 February 2015 you conduct your field study, working in groups and individually, guided by a Swiss-Tanzanian supervisory team. You visit institutions, meet experts, collect data and reflect on your research experience. The third part of the Project Course (data analysis and report writing) will follow in FS 2015. |

| Teilnahmevoraussetzungen | BA in Social Anthropology or a related social science, enrollment in MA Anthropology or MA African Studies. If you are registered for another MA please contact the lecturer. Die Teilnehmerzahl ist beschränkt. Die Plätze werden nach Anmeldedatum und Studienfachzugehörigkeit vergeben. Vorrang haben die Studierenden der unter "Module" aufgelisteten Studienfächer/-gänge. Die Anmeldung erfolgt über ISIS. |
