| Inhalt | This course is meant to help graduate students improve their writing skills in English. A sound ability to present your work or communicate its merits and contributions is an essential skill in every science. It is equally useful to anyone whose work entails a level of specialisation or complexity, which is non-trivial for a broad audience to comprehend. We will cover several genres (e.g. thesis/dissertation, scientific paper, and poster). We will also combine analysis with production to improve scientific communication skills. Content organisation and contextualisation, structure, use of graphics, as well as correct use of language for providing emphasis and improving readability, are some of the topics students will work on. |

| Teilnahmevoraussetzungen | MA, MSc, or PhD students who do scientific research. B2/C1 level of English. |
| Anmeldung zur Lehrveranstaltung | Registration is NOT limited only to Computer Science students. University of Basel students must register on-line for the course. Other students (e.g. ETHZ BSSE) must contact the Computer Science study program manager, Ute Linder, and the teachers. |
