| Inhalt | The seminar approaches the history of Basel Mission, one of the most prominent continental mission agencies founded in the long 19th "Century of Mission". It highlights some controversies in Basel mission history, predominantly in Africa, and India. Participants are reviewing historical watershed events in mission history, shaped in inter-religious and intercultural contact zones. Yet, the seminar also discusses challenges and hidden subtexts in Basel Mission history. |

| Teilnahmevoraussetzungen | The bi-weekly seminar starts on 17 September, and continues with the international Basel Mission symposion, taking place from 24-26 September at Basel Mission House. Note: It is compulsory for particiapants in this seminar to participate in this symposion (at reduced fees for students; the fees can be rebursed by the Deptm. for Extra-European Christianity). Details will be given at first meeting, on 17 September. |
