Inhalt | We will be looking at sustainability, governance, health, and health systems from legal and political science perspectives. Students will learn about and discuss different views of each of these concepts and how the differences impact on health governance initiatives in practice. |
Lernziele | Understand the connections between different aspects of sustainability, various measures of governance, and health systems and be able to detect problem areas in the interaction of these fields. |

Bemerkungen | Ist in den folgenden Vertiefungsrichtung anrechenbar: Normaler Master: Life Sciences Recht und Transnationales Recht Wirtschaftsrechtsmaster: Global Life Sciences and Sustainability CLAUDIA BAEZ-CAMARGO holds a PhD in political science from the University of Notre Dame, USA and a graduate degree in economics from the University of Cambridge, England. She is currently head researcher on public governance at the Basel Institute on Governance. Her research interests include governance of health systems assessment, political economy methods for developing sustainable governance enhancing reforms, anticorruption participatory approaches. Before joining the Institute she was professor of political science and history at William Paterson University in the USA. Her professional experience also includes work with the Mexican federal government in developing poverty alleviation programs as well as research activities with the UN's Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean. She has several years experience working on the topic of governance of health systems in low income countries with field research experience in Sub Saharan Africa, Central and South East Asia, South East Europe and Latin America. |
