| Inhalt | This course targets advanced master and beginning PhD students who either are interested in becoming familiar with the full set of available state-of-the-art empirical research methods for micro-level data, or have a special interest in empirical questions that go beyond average causal effects. It covers the following topics: 1. Quantifying causal mechanisms 2. Distributional causal effects 3. Dynamic causal models 4. Various theory-based approaches such as bunching evidence, structural estimation or sufficient statistics that enable - theory-based identification and estimation strategies - estimating structural model parameters - quantitative model predictions - quantitative normative analysis - testing economic theory. We illustrate these methods using applications that are easy to understand by students from different backgrounds. Together with the course “ 52357 Empirical Research Methods in Labour Economics” this course provides a sound foundation for conducting high-quality empirical research with micro-level data. |
