| Inhalt | An introduction to crop protection with a focus on modern crop protection research will be provided covering the topics: Modern agribusiness - markets, companies, benefits and challenges Current leading products: fungicides, herbicides, insecticides Examples of new technologies (biologicals, nematicides, malaria vector controls, RNA based biocontrols, etc.) Discovery and optimization of new crop protection products Current trends in crop protection research Product safety evaluation and registration of agrochemicals Modern formulation technology Patent protection of agrochemicals This course includes a half day visit of the Syngenta Research Campus in Stein including a tour through the biological testing facilities and a round table discussion with leading scientists. |

Depending on the number of participants the semester study is either an individual or a group work. A short written report as well as a short presentation at the end of the semester is expected. |
