Inhalt | This course focuses on advanced interdisciplinary research skills for Master in Critical Urbanisms students who are preparing for their thesis work. Students will be trained to bring together the research skills that were developed in previous modules (the Ways of Knowing the City module as well as either the Urbanism from the South, Urbanism across Geographies, or Anthropological Fieldwork modules. The goal is to enrich our analytical methods from the perspective of more than one discipline and through specifically targeted exercises focusing on: 1) embodied and fieldwork-based research, 2) studies of materiality, 3) archive-based research, 4) discourse analysis, 5) image and visual analysis 6) oral history and auditory research, 7) creative writing and narrative. Students will be guided to develop their individual thesis proposal as well as a seminar paper focused on interdisciplinary methodology. |
