| Inhalt | The aim of the course is to acquire skills in living lab and participative research in an applied framework. Living labs increasingly gain importance in the field of sustainability. They are defined as user-centered, innovation oriented virtual or physical spaces in which to solve societal challenges by bringing together various stakeholders for collaboration (Hossain et al., 2019). The concept is based on a transdisciplinary, systematic user co-creation approach integrating research and innovation processes, including various research methods such as action research and design thinking. Particularly sustainable development asks for these research approaches in order to test, demonstrate and foster social innovations such as sustainable lifestyles (Liedtke et al., 2012). Thereby, the importance of sustainability initiatives (e.g., urban agriculture, sharing initiatives) for sustainability transformations is often emphasized. They can achieve far-reaching changes through the implementation of more sustainable lifestyles, for example in the areas of nutrition, energy consumption or mobility as well as social innovations in the fields of social and economic sustainability. However, initiatives in these areas rarely collaborate particularly beyond their own field and thus waste opportunities to accumulate resources and impact. Therefore, the aim of the course is to acquire skills in living lab and participative research methods through the instigation and fostering of innovative collaborations between differing sustainability initiatives. In collaboration with students from the EH Freiburg (Germany) you will design and carry out living lab research in groups to explore innovative sustainability cooperation between sustainability initiatives, social work institutions and sustainability-oriented companies in the Trinational region. By the end of the seminar, you will have a basic understanding regarding sustainability transitions and will have received practical experience in applying living lab research methods, e.g., interviews, surveys or focus group method. |

| Bemerkungen | Diese Lehrveranstaltung wird von «Impuls» unterstützt. Impuls fördert Dozierende und Studierende, im Rahmen von Lehrveranstaltungen Projekte mit Bezug zu den Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) umzusetzen. Mit der Förderung durch Impuls sollen Studierende zu Change Agents für Nachhaltigkeit ausgebildet und dazu inspiriert und befähigt werden, diese Kompetenzen auch im späteren Berufsleben und im Privaten für eine nachhaltige(re) Entwicklung einzusetzen. Die Förderung beinhaltet neben finanzieller Unterstützung unter anderem auch Coaching für die Umsetzung der Studierendenprojekte und einen SDG-Workshop.
