| Inhalt | Representatives from the public and private sectors, even citizens and members of universities including students increasingly demand a greater relevance and impact of research on the growing set of societal challenges we face today. This course introduces participants to a set of approaches that aim at addressing these concerns. While co-design and co-production of knowledge, community-based research, action research, or participatory research have been around for decades, their coverage in conventional academic research and teaching programs is often neglected. In this seminar, we will cover such topics and present case studies of their application not only as alternative forms to conventional research approaches but also to illustrate how established social science research practices can be adapted to some of these ideas. |
| Lernziele | Participants will - become familiar with key concepts associated with transdisciplinarity, - be introduced to case studies applying transdisciplinary principles and research, and - become aware of the advantages and disadvantages of different participatory and non-participatory approaches. |
