Inhalt | Sustainable practices within the real estate sector are increasingly crucial due to the significant impact of buildings on greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption. Beyond these concerns, our living spaces must also be healthy and affordable. While the principles of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) are widely recognized, understanding and implementing ESG effectively in the real estate sector presents a complex, interdisciplinary challenge. Additionally, it requires solid methodological understanding of multiple fields, too. |
Lernziele | A successful outcome of this course includes a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities and challenges for different stakeholders around the management of sustainable real estate and real estate portfolios. Participants will explore the interdisciplinary nature of sustainable real estate, drawing on methodologies from economics, finance, statistics, policy analysis, and public opinion research. Through interactive sessions, the course will provide an overview of the principles and current practices of sustainable real estate, focusing mostly on economic and social factors. The course is aimed at students with a keen interest in sustainability particularly in the real estate sector as well as individuals with a background in economics or a related quantitative social science field. You may already be familiar with some of the methodologies used in the subfields we cover, but not all. The course includes introductory tutorials to equip students with the necessary tools to bridge knowledge gaps, fostering an environment of learning and professional growth. In return, we anticipate your dedication to actively fill gaps in your knowledge. Many of our faculty’s alumni are starting to lead this field globally either in business, policy, or research. This course aims to prepare you to be part of this amazing community in the future. |
