| Inhalt | Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is an impairing mental disorder characterised by unwanted intrusive thoughts and repetitive behavioral or mental acts. The various repetitive behaviors are extremely stressful not only for individuals with OCD, but also for their close others. Only little research exists relating to the potential impairments in social relationships in individuals with OCD and it is not clear if, and to what extent, social relationships or social skills might be impaired in individuals with OCD. Additionally, studies show that caregivers of OCD experience substantial worries, psychological distress, and overall burden and reduced quality of life. Distress can occur, for example, because some individuals with OCD take hours to complete their checking ritual before they can eventually leave the house, causing disruption to family routines, and distress, embarrassment and worry in close others of those with OCD. Projektbeschreibung: In this MP we research various aspects of relationships that might be related to OCD, such as potential social impairments in individuals with OCD, or the impairment of close others caused by the OCD. Students will be involved in the recruitment of participants for the pilot and probably also the main study. Experiences in conducting the SCID are advantageous. |

| Hinweise zur Prüfung | Regelmässige Teilnahme, Engagement und zuverlässige Bearbeitung der Projektaufgaben, ggf. nach Absprache. Für die regelmässige Teilnahme am Masterprojekt (StO24) werden 5 KP vergeben, zusätzlich werden mit dem Masterkolloquium (StO24) 2 KP erworben (StO24). Insgesamt müssen im Modul "Masterprojekt" (StO24) 14 KP erworben werden. |
