Inhalt | Finance is a 6 ECTS credit course. It involves a total of 12 lectures, 6 seminars, 2 guest lectures, 2 Q&A sessions, 2 home-work assignment sessions and 2 exam practice sessions. The language of instruction is English. All course materials will be made available on ADAM. The objective of this course is to provide students with an advanced treatment of modern finance theory. The course proceeds in two parts: Part 1: Finance Theory • Risk and Return • Asset Pricing • Market (In-)Efficiency Part 2: Financial Instruments • Fixed Income • Derivatives |
Lernziele | Having completed this course, students will understand the key concepts of finance theory, as well as the modern developments in this field. Students will be equipped with the skills to solve problems in this area independently. |
Literatur | The main study material are the course and seminar slides. The course partly follows: (1) Bodie, Z., Kane, A. and Marcus, A.J. (2024). Investments. McGraw-Hill, 13th edition. (2) Pedersen, L. H. (2015). Efficiently Inefficient: How Smart Money Invests and Market Prices Are Determined. Princeton University Press. (3) Brealey, R., Myers, S., and Allen, F. (2016). Principles of Corporate Finance. McGraw-Hill, 12th edition. Any other additional reading material, incl. current academic literature , will be provided directly on ADAM. |
