Inhalt | This course explores green hydrogen as a case study of sustainable energy transitions, combining concepts from human geography and science studies. Focusing on North-South dynamics – such as links between Namibia and Switzerland –students critically examine the socio-political, economic, and environmental dimensions of green industrialization. Through interdisciplinary dialogue and practical training in qualitative research methods, including content analysis and transdisciplinary tools (e.g., td-net), students learn to investigate and interpret complex energy infrastructures. The course equips participants to formulate research questions, develop qualitative methods, and present their findings. |
Lernziele | Participants will learn to identify and evaluate the political, economic, technological, and social factors shaping energy transitions. The course fosters interdisciplinary dialogue by integrating insights from geography and science and technology studies (STS), with a focus on applying transdisciplinary research approaches to the case of green hydrogen. On a practical level, participants will develop skills in formulating research questions, designing qualitative research methods, and communicating their findings. These skills are intended to support participants’ broader academic and professional pursuits. |
Literatur | Reading materials (required/suggested) can be downloaded on ADAM. If necessary, the instructors will provide a separate platform for students to share and exchange amongst themselves during the course. |
